This short, sweet yet powerful video will give you a simple technique to halt those pesky and all too often destructive negative thoughts. John Assaraf of The Secret fame is one of the leading behavioural and mindset experts in the world. He has a unique ability to help people release their mental and emotional obstacles using some simple to implement tools, as you will discover in this video.
I watch this video this morning then had to hop onto a call, between watching the video and sitting to write this blog I implemented his simple techniques and actually really enjoyed the technique and the immediate result. Definitely a tool to keep in the bag people! I’m going to add this video today with a second John Assaraf video tomorrow because they are short but packed with power.
John suggests that we follow his three simple steps to silence those thoughts we do not want, I do suggest you watch the video so you can understand the reasoning behind these steps..
- Give your brain a command to make you aware of when negative thoughts of emotions show up
- When they do, recognise that you don’t have to pay attention to them, you are in control. Let the thoughts wash over you, surrender to it but don’t engage in it, then say “Next.”
- Have a scene you desire, a happy thought or place you can go to in your mind, focusing on that helps you break away from engaging in the negative and also reinforces what it is you want! I snapped my fingers each time I said “next” which lightened up the moment, made me smile, that can’t be a bad thing, can it!
