On the 2nd February 2006, Anita Moorjani’s family were told to prepare to say goodbye. They were told by her doctors that her organs were shutting down and she was in the final stages of Lymphoma.
After finding a lump in her neck four years prior, Anita had battled cancer without success and eventually was rushed to hospital with large cancerous tumors in her neck, chest and under her arms, she weighed 85lb, was covered in liaisons and had lungs full of fluid.
Her family were understandably devastated as their worst fears had become reality. Little did they know that whilst she was in a coma, she was aware of everything that was going on around her, what was being said, done and even felt. Her awareness wasn’t just limited to the room. She became aware of things going on in other parts of the hospital and even with her brother who was boarding a plane in India to come and say goodbye to her.
Anita’s awareness expanded in other ways, she became aware her illness and what had caused it as well as the presence of her dad and her best friend who had already passed on.
What happened next is nothing short of a miracle, if you haven’t already heard Anita’s amazing story I invite you to listen to this video. Be prepared to be amazed, also be prepared to take notes on 5 very important messages she has to share.
I read Anita’s book ‘Dying to be me,’ a few years ago and was blown away. Within the pages of her book, far more information is given than in this brief video but even knowing her story well, I had goosebumps listening to it again.
There are invaluable lessons for every single one of us on how we should be living. I hope you take the time to listen to her inspiring, wonderful story and maybe even read her book. Her message will surely make you think about how you can change the way you prioritize and live your life.
Wishing you a blessed day,
