We’ve made it to day 30, we’re one-third of the way through our 90 days so I thought this would be a great time to do my own video. Now I am very camera shy so this is a bit of a big moment for me!
My reasoning is that I am experiencing change, which I am very excited about. We’ve all heard how important it is to watch or read something inspirational every day but actually finding the time to commit to something like that isn’t so simple. In a day full of busy, full of distraction, you can be sure the things that will do us the most good are the things we put off for another day.
There is so much emphasis on taking care of the body, exercising, eating healthily, drinking plenty of water yadda yadda… but what about our mind? The root of all that we are, all that we perceive, experience, attract, is in our thoughts and our subconscious mind. Once we take control of that, we can fix everything else. Our thinking determines whether we have the ability.
The root of all that we are, all that we perceive, experience, attract, is in our thoughts and our subconscious mind. Once we take control of that, we can fix everything else. Our thinking determines whether we have the ability, desire, and commitment to all the other things we know we need to take care of, like exercise, eating healthily and giving up bad habits, being committed to our careers, valuing time with our loved ones etc.
Our subconscious mind was like a sponge in our formative years, we absorbed everything around us. Our brains are hard-wired to keep us safe and happy when we experienced something that caused us fear, rejection, sadness or embarrassment, our brains created patterns to protect us from facing those experiences again.
For some of us, a fear of success may have come about as a result of getting something wrong and being told off for it or ridiculed, our brains will have formed a pattern that steers us away from trying to succeed there for avoiding the possibility of that type of pain again. We may experience a fear of socializing because we were ridiculed in front of a large group. We may fear failure because we were made to perceive failure as weakness. We may have lacked love from our parents or caregivers and now struggle with issues of trust because our brain has been wired to avoid closeness and therefore, avoid the pain of not feeling loved, often a lack of love in childhood or a feeling of not being good enough can result in a need to please everyone.
So often the things our brains try to prevent us from experiencing cause us more pain, from that pain we may turn to addictions that bring us some temporary relief, then our brains become aware that we are experiencing pleasure and create patterns to drive us to overeat, drink, smoke, take drugs, behave overly promiscuously, be lazy etc.
Our brains will also manifest physical illnesses to shape our experiences. Louise hay wrote a metaphysical book on the connection between our fear-based experiences and the illness we acquire.
When we begin to understand that we can reprogram our brains, we realize we have the power to change everything in our lives.
We must start paying careful attention to our inner chatter. How do we talk to ourselves? Are we overly critical, do we feel victimized, angry and resentful. Those feelings come from a lack of self-love and that is the very first thing we need to work on. Louise Hay and Cheryl Richardson gives us some practical tool to work on self-love. We are all divine beings, we arrived on earth as perfect expressions of love. We didn’t know how to hate or be resentful, these are emotions we have acquired and are emotions we can remove.
While addressing and changing our negative inner feelings, we need to silence the negative thoughts and replace them with loving thoughts. That sounds simple enough but many people really struggle with loving thoughts after years of self-loathing. This is where affirmations are wonderful. John Kehoe, Wayne Dyer, Bob Proctor, Oprah, Tony Robbins, Earl Nightingale and so many of our inspirational teachers have used affirmations to lift them out of self-doubt and self-loathing. Something as simple as, ‘I love and appreciate myself,’ said over and over can really change how we feel.
Repetition is how we program our minds. We learned our timetables, our names, our language, through constantly having them repeated to us. To reprogram our negative thought patterns we need to catch our thoughts, stop them by saying ‘next’ then replacing them with ‘I love and appreciate myself,’ or something similar.
We are all divine beings, we arrived on earth as perfect expressions of love. We didn’t know how to hate or be resentful, these are emotions we have acquired and are emotions we can remove.
On day 29 Christie Marie Sheldon takes us through a wonderful meditation that helps us identify where our blocks originated and how to remove them.
It is conflicting to have negative inner chatter whilst feeling worthy of success, receiving love and caring for our health. Sometimes we see success as a way to love ourselves and sometimes we have so little self-love, we simply don’t even strive for success.
Whichever it is. Loving one’s self is at the core of living a bountiful life of joy and success.
We really are what we think and for the weeks that I have been focusing on self-love whilst silencing the negative chatter I have been waking up with a feeling of blissfulness and peace. A few simple inner changes have had a noticeable effect on me. Anyway, I will share my video and hope that I can encourage you to begin your journey to feeling blissful every single day. Only time can tell where this blissfulness will lead me, so stay tuned.
My apologies for the poor quality iPhone video. Hopefully, I will have a better camera by day 60 😉
I haven’t discussed manifesting the things we want.
Just about every video in the 29 so far has spoken about how we can draw into our lives anything we want by using certain techniques. I am using the ones that resonated the most for me and will hopefully have news to share with you in my 60-day video on how I have faired. Positive changes are already beginning to happen. I won’t go into details as they are small changes and I’d rather not put any energy or expectation on them. I am going with the flow of life. I am avoiding negative news and people, thinking positive thoughts, doing visualization and have a list of things I want and a list of things I am good at (John Kehoe’s video will explain how they are useful).I look forward to sharing the rest of this journey with you.
I practice gratitude constantly, it is effortless and raises your vibration immediately. Just walking through the car park I might say, ‘how blessed am I to live in a country with lovely carparks’, or ‘I’m so thankful to have a car to drive.’ Simple thoughts like that are taking up air time where negative thoughts might have otherwise had center stage. When you start to show gratitude you see blessings in everything. When you see those blessing you feel light, bright and in alignment.
Abraham speaks about being in the vortex. I used to try but only briefly would experience that blissfulness. Now, I’m in the vortex more than I am out of it. Is it the gratitude, the self-love, the brushing away negative thoughts, I’m not sure. I suspect it is all of the above. I can tell you one thing, there is nothing quite like it and its where every single one of us can and should be. There is so much power within us. The answers to all our wants are within us. We are each a magical and unique part of the human tapestry. No one can be or replace you, no one can be or replace me. When we see ourselves are the perfect and divine reflections of love that we are, we can make miracles happen.
I look forward to sharing the rest of this journey with you,
Love and happiness to you,
